There is something about this time of year that is, well, personal.

Its all the emotions put into a month, ending in an happy new year, that is full of expectations, that I challenge anybody not to get scared of.

There is something about the fairy lights on a tree that draw you into memories like a roaring log fire or a sunrise of oranges and hope.

There is something about the humbleness it brings and I’m grateful, to be able to look forward to 2024.

I’m relieved to have enjoyed, not survived 2023.

I am delighted the pain of our first 2 years negotiating the world of running BnB´s and the people around us then are now firmly in the past, and I am forever grateful for the blessings in working and living in such a glorious part of Andalucía, and being able to call it home.

We get to meet so many beautiful people here at Casa KiSi from literally all walks of life and the world. From Olympians to Pilots, from expats to old friends, from strangers on a last minute bargain to strangers who feel they know us from seeing us on the television. From someone hearing our podcast and booking a murder mystery to seeing our adverts and enjoying an afternoon KiSimas tea or lunch.  Yes, we really do look forward to meeting everyone of you and hearing all your stories.

Everyone has a past and ours is maybe more well known than others, parts of it misled by so called friends that we have learnt valuable lessons from, to new friends that only started as guests. And not forgetting our old and invaluable friends and guests who have stuck by us through it all.

To be able to make a choice in your life to start a completely new idea (guest house) or to make a choice and go for it  may seem brave.

To do it twice is utter nonsense (no, that WAS brave !)

But to us it was an adventure and still is !

"It´s not about where an adventure ends, because that´s not what an adventure is about"

We have made mistakes and learnt from them, made improvements, changed menus, rates and offers and made KiSimas a real thing! … it´s now a hashtag...  wow!

We end this year, our best yet and as this is published have 4 nights available….. manifesting that sold out sticker!!!!

Christmas decs, trifles, cakes, mince pies, and everything else planned prepped and ready. Unfortunately not the nut roast yet as my assistant reckons he can do better than me and is going to make it.

I have a NYE party with the people that simply give me breath and I’m delighted that it is a fitting end to 2023.

Recently we had a returning guest who commented on that hearing mine and my assistant’s laughter from the house was the best thing about sitting in the sunshine by our pool.

We laugh our way through it all my bestie and me and a fair few times piss each other off … a lot! But my advice to anyone who wants to live the dream…… go for it….. memories aren’t made in a 9-5 workplace.

Is it easy… no

Is it ruthless... yes

Is it worth it… hell yeah

…. and if you want or need some encouragement or a chat about those dreams that you just need a push to realise, then book in a stay at Casa Kisi because I will happily bend your ears telling you how great it will be for you!

"Sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage.

Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery.

And I promise you, something great will come of it."

Happy Kisimas everyone and may all your dreams come true in 2024 xxx
